The highlights of the event will be hot air balloons, caving and glamping at the unexplored places of the lush green forest, rich hills and above of clouds.
“We are living in the Meghalayan Era and the world needs to be informed about this. Through this festival, we will brand Meghalaya and invite visitors to experience the State in a different style. We are putting different activities, music and cultural events to make this event a memorable one,” Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said.
It may be mentioned that Glamping is being held for the first time in Meghalaya, where 50 five star luxury tents will be put up for visitors. They can enjoy 5-star facilities in the tent and enjoy the festival.

He took to Facebook to share a video of the upcoming fest and wrote, “The world needs to generate 600 million jobs over the next decade to sustain economic growth and maintain social stability. While the world looks for alternatives, we look at ‘Culture’ as the major economic driver of the future,”.
He added that ‘The Meghalayan Age 2020’ is curated to preserve, package, showcase the natural, indigenous and heritage capital of the country “creating a world-class case study on ‘how to win in the experience economy’ – a 12 billion dollar opportunity for economies and nations.”
