Big Breaking: Devendra Fadnavis Quits As Maharashtra CM

Fadnavis took oath as the Maharashtra Chief Minister for a second term on November 23rd, 2019

Ahead of November 28th, 2019’s floor test, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Devendra Fadnavis resigned as the Maharashtra Chief Minister. Hours before, NCP leader Ajit Pawar resigned as the deputy chief minister.

The Supreme Court on November 26th, 2019 asked the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Fadnavis government in Maharashtra to prove its majority on the floor of the assembly by November 27th, 2019 within 5 pm.

While addressing the media today, Fadnavis said he will visit the Raj Bhavan post the press conference and tender his resignation. “I wish them all the best whoever will form the government. But that will be a very unstable government as there is a huge difference of opinions,” he said as quoted by ANI.

Earlier in the day, Fadnavis paid tributes to the martyrs of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack at Police Memorial.
