With a dream to educate at least a member of a family digitally, the Bharatiya Janata Party launched the Digital India Campaign.
Taking forward the campaign, Assam Pradesh BJP’s active karyakarta and active youth leader, Amitabh Bhattacharjee was awarded the prestigious “Icon India Award 2019” at Bangalore on November 24th, 2019 for his outstanding contribution on Digital Awareness in Rural Areas of Assam & Northeast.
Bhattacharjee, who is also the state convenor of e-library department and state co-convenor of IT & Social Media of BJP Assam Pradesh, received the “Best Innovative Digital Trainer” award from the popular Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh.
It may be mentioned, Bhattacharjee along with other BJP karyakartas has continuously been working hard on the digital awareness drive since the last 4 years, just after the launch of Digital India on July 1st 2015. They visited various remote villages of Assam and Northeast region and organised awareness workshops, training camps, chah-mel etc. to promote digital awareness among the common people of the remote areas.
Bhattacharjee thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, State Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Party State President Ranjeet Dass, Party State Organising Secretary and all leaders and karyakarthas of BJP and the people of Assam for their support and cooperation.
