    Assam Police Deploy 375 Buses To Bring Back 2,056 Stranded Persons

    People after being brought back will be quarantined based on their condition

    The Assam Police has deployed 375 buses to bring back 2,056 stranded persons belonging to Assam from various locations of the country.

    Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that among the 2,056 persons, around 1000 persons will reach Assam by Thursday night. Most of the persons who are being brought back comprise of students, patients and other related persons.

    The ones who have a visit history of a red zone are being quarantined in Sarusujai and other nearby hotels. While other persons after being tested will be stamped and be allowed to go home but they’ll have to be in home quarantine even then.

    As of Thursday, there are five quarantine centres in the state and these will only be increased if the number people see a rise.

    There are chances of the Nehru Stadium to be converted into a quarantine centre.

    The minister while speaking on entry to Assam from other states said that from now on the documents of the vehicles and drivers belonging to other states entering Assam will be taken by the police so that the vehicles do not run away from midway after entering Assam.

    The drivers can take the documents back from the border post while going back from Assam.
