Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi visited the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) and took stock of the medical facilities made available for the patients.
Mukhi while returning from Sivasagar, visited JMCH en route to Guwahati and interacted with the patients and took stock of their requirements on February 21st, 2020.
Taking keen interests in patients’ amenities, Mukhi asked the Principal of JMCH Dr Atul Chandra Baro not to allow the patients’ attendants and luggage to the patient wards. He also said that visiting hours should be strictly adhered to. To avoid inconvenience to the patient, particular time hours should be maintained.
The Governor also asked the authorities to make a provision of waiting room for the attendants and inspected cleanliness in the hospital.
Earlier, a PowerPoint presentation was screened highlighting the upcoming projects of JMCH. Baro informed the Governor that currently they do not have any neurologist and cardio surgeon for which they are facing difficulties.
The Governor assured that he will talk to the concerned minister and get them posted at the earliest. Member of Parliament Kamakhya Prasad Tasa had also accompanied the Governor during his visit to JMCH.
