    Assam BJP Gears Up For Assembly Polls, To Hold Social Media Workers’ Meet In March

    Sarbananda Sonowal urged social media workers to disseminate information on various initiatives and schemes of the government to counter misinformation

    Eyeing to pocket the 2021 Assam Assembly Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party on December 23rd, 2019, announced that it would organise the biggest social media Workers’ Meet in the city.

    Speaking to the media persons, the state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Daas said, “The Social Media Workers’ Meet will be held in next March. It would be the biggest meet ever in the country.”

    Dass further appealed the people not to indulge in ‘spreading’ misleading information on social networking sites. “Social Media will be the tool to take the truth to the people,” he added.

    The state Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, while addressing the ending ceremony of the Social Media Workers’ meet in the city, urged them to disseminate information on various initiatives and schemes of the government to counter misinformation propagated by anti-social elements.

    “In many occasion, social media is being misused. We have to use social media carefully so that it can play a vital role in shaping the society,” Sonowal further said.

    Aiming to pocket the next state Assembly Election, the CM said, “Through Vijay Sankalp 2021, we reiterate our commitment to take the state towards greater heights of prosperity and development under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji.”
