Union home minister Amit Shah will visit Arunachal Pradesh on February 20th, 2020 to attend the 34th statehood day function at IG Park and launch a slew of projects related to industry and roads.
Before visiting the Northeastern state Shah took to Twitter and informed that he is eagerly looking forward to being in Itanagar to celebrate the Statehood Day with the people of the state. He extended his warm greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on their 34th Statehood Day. “The land of the dawn-lit mountains has a rich cultural heritage and is blessed with spectacular natural beauty,” he said.
As per media reports, Shah will launch the Arunachal Pradesh Industrial and Investment Policy, 2020. He is reported to inaugurate the Joram Koloriang Road being constructed by the Border Roads Organisation.
The event will also be attended by Union sports minister Kiren Rijiju and Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Jitendra Singh.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi including top leaders of the country greeted the people of Arunachal and Mizoram for their Statehood Day.
It may be mentioned that Arunachal Pradesh became a full-fledged state on February 20th, 1987. It was known as the North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) untill 1972.
