    After Rasna Powder, Drug Peddlers In Meghalaya Now Selling Powdered Puffed Rice

    Meghalaya Police earlier tweeted about drug peddlers who have ripped off people by selling Rasna powder instead of drugs

    After creating ripples of laughter on the internet with their hilarious Rasna tweet, Meghalaya police is here again with puffed rice tweet.

    On September 26th, 2019, the ANTF team of Meghalaya police intercepted a vehicle and recovered 750 grams of “powdered puffed rice” packed in 25 soapboxes to be sold as heroin in the market.

    Meghalaya Police took to Twitter to announce the recovery. The tweet reads, “After Rasna incident, the Dark Night Rices! ANTF East Jaintia Hills intercepted a vehicle & recovered approx. 750 grams of, wait for it, “Powdered Puffed Rice”, packed in 25 soapboxes, to be sold in the market as Heroin. Kudos to ANTF! #RiceAndShine #DrugsFreeMeghalaya.”

    Speaking to Time8, Vivekanand Singh, Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya said, “Acting on a tip-off, we seized the vehicle which was coming from Silchar and recovered 25 soapboxes with packets containing white powder. Suspecting it to be heroin, we ran tests. When we received the results, we found out that it was not heroin but powdered puffed rice.”

    “We also detained the driver and another person with the vehicle but later had to let them go as we couldn’t try them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,” Singh added.

    It may be mentioned, on August 15th, 2019 the Meghalaya Police tweeted about the drug crisis in the state where drug peddlers are fooling their clients by selling with Rasna powder. The Meghalaya Police won the hearts of the netizens with their kickass witty tweet about drug addicts being ‘Rasna Ripped.’
