The total number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Assam surged to 86 after seven people, who had travelled from Mumbai, tested positive for COVID-19 on May 14th, 2020, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
Seven patients and attendants who returned from Mumbai and now in quarantine have tested positive for COVID-19, Sarma tweeted.
Out of the seven, three are cancer patients and one heart patient. The remaining are attendants.
Of the total 86 cases, currently, 44 affected persons are receiving treatment in the state.
39 persons are undergoing treatment. Two fatalities have been reported in the State so far.
15 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Guwahati. All the cases are related to a single person who used to work in a potato warehouse on the outskirts of Guwahati as well as at Hotel Rajkamal in Fancy Bazar.
