Strike off all your plans from your itinerary for the dates 10, 11, and 12th Nov, to witness the 3rd North East India Fashion Week: The Khadi Movement live in Nyokum Lapang Field, Itanagar.
NEIFW will be a grand and promising platform for all the aspiring indigenous weavers and fashion designers from Northeast. The idea is to promote various local handlooms and handicrafts from the Northeastern region to showcase our specialties regarding fashion and designer material across the country.

The event has been mutually organized with the Arunachal Pradesh Government and Arunachal Tourism and has been conceptualized by Yana Ngoba. She is a famed fashion designer from Arunachal Pradesh who mainly concentrates on handloom fabrics.
The artistic designer encourages the region’s artisans and designers to bring out the best and boost the northeastern fabric market and culture.

Prior to this, the Hong Dree festival in Ziro, Assam, and Nagaland gained much recognition and response, and finally, the Itanagar edition marks the grand finale of the third year of North East India Fashion Week.
The celebrated fashion designer of Northeast said that she considers the North eastern weavers as magicians and wants them to get exposure.
She intends to train the designers and weavers to develop amazing skills, capacity building along with cluster development initiatives, which will further help them to create an individual brand of their own.

The 3rd edition of North East India Fashion Week will be inaugurated with pomp and grandeur. Around 50 artisans from all over Northeast have come forward to participate including a designer from Delhi and Philippines.

Besides that, the three day fashion week will also host scintillating numbers performed by musicians and dancers from different states of the region. This will help to reach out and interact with the crowd in the form of rich folk songs.

Performances by Karbi Folk Rock performer Phuningding celebrated singer and composer Guru Rewben Mashangva, and Saka Mashangva and popular Assamese singer and composer Simanta Shekhar will set the mood for the three evenings.
