    2 Nizamuddin Markaz Attendees From Tripura Test Positive In Rajasthan

    A group of 11-member Islamic preachers had left Tripura on March 5th, 2020 to attend the Tablighi Jamaat and had stayed there till March 8th, 2020

    Two men out of a total of 11 persons of Boxanagar area in Sipahijala district of Tripura have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The two Muslim clerics had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi.

    The Nizamuddin Markaz, the Tablighi Jamaat headquarters in south Delhi which has emerged as a COVID-19 hotspot.

    A group of 11-member Islamic preachers had left Tripura on March 5th, 2020 to attend the Tablighi Jamaat and had stayed there till March 8th, 2020.

    They travelled to Bikaner in Rajasthan on March 8th, 2020. Out of 11, only two have tested positive for coronavirus so far.

    Tripura Surveillance Officer Dr Deep Debbarma told media that two COVID-19 patients from Tripura in Rajasthan are said to be critical. Tripura government would seek a detailed report on the development from the Rajasthan government.

    Dr Debbarma said that the 11-member contingent came in direct contact with the COVID-19 positive person of Karimganj district in Assam.

    Out of 192 samples, 117 tested negative while the results of others are yet to be received. Biplab Deb led Tripura government has sealed all entry points of the State, except at Chouraibari.
