2.34 Lakh Students, CCTV Cameras, Jammers & Cyber Cell: HS Final Exam From Feb 12

The AHSEC has made foolproof three-layered security arrangements to conduct the examinations smoothly and check any sort of malpractice

A total of 2, 34,809 students will take the Higher Secondary final examinations at 772 centres and 20 additional venues across Assam on February 12th, 2020.

From CCTV cameras, jammers and a full-fledged cyber cell, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has made foolproof three-layered security arrangements to conduct the examinations smoothly and check any sort of malpractice.

Altogether 1,175,175 students in Arts stream, 40,588 in Science stream and 18,178 in Commerce stream would appear for the Class 12 Board examinations. On the other hand, a total of 868 students will appear in the Vocational stream.

The AHSEC has asked the district administrations to impose Section 144 CrPC within a 50-metre radius of all the examination centres to ensure that no one can come within 100 metres except the candidates and staff members involved in conducting the exam.

40 observers, 850 supervising officers and respective in-charges of all the centres have been out in line to conduct the examination in a smooth and fair manner.

On the other hand, a dedicated cyber cell have been set up to check malpractice. The cell would be headed by retired police officer Ejaz Hazarika. The cell would centrally monitor the feedback from all examination centres and locate any cyber malpractice within minutes.

All the examination halls, confidential rooms of the exam centres would be under CCTV surveillance. Students and invigilators are not allowed to carry mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators and other electronic devices inside the examination hall.

The AHSEC authorities also urged the general public not to spread rumours of question paper leak once the exam commences.
