    1,550 NDFB Cadres To Surrender In Guwahati On Jan 30

    Last week, a total of 644 militants of eight banned insurgent outfits surrendered in Assam along with 177 arms

    A total of 1,550 cadres of four fractions of National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) along with 130 weapons will surrender on January 30th, 2020 in presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at a programme in Guwahati.

    The arms laying ceremony by the members of the NDFB groups will be held at GMCH Auditorium, Bhangagarh, Guwahati. Assam Finance Minister and NEDA Convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta along with other senior officials will be present at the event.

    The development comes after the Union home ministry on January 27th, 2020 signed a tripartite agreement with all the four fractions of the NDFB and Assam government. The four factions of the NDFB, which signed the pact, are led by Ranjan Daimary, Govinda Basumatary, Dhiren Boro and B Saoraigwra. The All Bodo Students’ Union was the key signatory of the Bodo Accord.

    Last week, a total of 644 militants of eight banned insurgent outfits surrendered in Assam along with 177 arms, police said. The members of the insurgent groups – ULFA-I, NDFB, RNLF, KLO, CPI (Maoist), NSLA, ADF and NLFB. It was one of the largest surrender of militants in recent times.
