    100 Films From 65 Nations: Guwahati International Film Festival Begins

    Charcoal (Komur) directed by Esmaeel Monsef was screened in the opening ceremony of the festival

    The third edition of the Guwahati International Film Festival has begun in a befitting manner at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati on October 31st, 2019. The opening ceremony of the festival, which will conclude on November 6th, 2019, was hounoured by veteran Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Zanussi as the chief guest.

    Jyoti Chitraban in association with Dr Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute has organised the festival. The festival this year stressed the power of cinema in integrating people cutting across the geographical boundaries and cultural differences.

    A total of 100 movies from 65 countries will be screened at the yearly festival. Charcoal (Komur) directed by Iran’s eminent director Esmaeel Monsef was screened in the opening ceremony of the festival.

    The much-awaited movie Aamis will be premiered at the festival in the AUDI-2 on November 2nd, 2019 at 3:30 pm. Bhaskar Hazarika directorial Aamis has already won the hearts of many at different film festivals across the globe. Moreover, Bulbul Can Sing of filmmaker Rima Das will also be screened at the event.
